About Cochin Dermatological Society

The Cochin Dermatological Society (CDS) is one of the oldest and largest dermatological societies in Kerala. Established in 1990, CDS was registered as a society in 2003 under the Registrar of Societies. The society's first president was Dr. M.G. Subramonian, and the first secretary was Dr. V.P. Kuriyipe.

CDS has been at the forefront of academic activities in dermatology, both at the state and national levels. Kochi has served as the venue for three national IADVL (Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists, and Leprologists) conferences.

The first national conference in Kochi took place in 1985, with Dr. P. Ramendran Nair as the Organising Chairman and Dr. Soman Peter as the Organising Secretary. Under the banner of CDS, Kochi hosted another national conference in 2002, with Dr. V.P. Kuriyipe as the Organising Chairperson, Dr. P.V. Mathew as the Organising Secretary, and Dr. M.G. Subramonian as the Treasurer.
